I am thrilled to announce the launch of the OCV Newsletter, a new initiative designed to help you deepen your understanding of the Web3 space while simultaneously enhancing your English language skills. This newsletter builds upon the foundations laid by my book, On Crypto Valuation, or OCV, and aims to provide practical insights and learning opportunities for Web3 professionals and enthusiasts alike.

As you know, OCV offers a framework for crypto valuation grounded in Austrian economics, emphasizing the importance of understanding money’s functions – Store of Value, Medium of Exchange, and Unit of Account – to navigate the complexities of the crypto market. The book also explores the nuances of different cryptocurrencies, from Bitcoin as digital gold to altcoins and stablecoins.

Building on this, the OCV Newsletter will incorporate elements of the Deliberate Practice coaching service I’ve been developing. A key component of this service involves the analysis of real-world Web3 scenarios, particularly case studies of notable cryptocurrency and Web3 scams.

Here’s what you can expect from the OCV Newsletter:

• Daily digest of key terms and concepts from trending events in crypto and Web3, most of the time Chinese and English bilingual.
• In-depth discussions of recent and historical crypto scam case studies. By examining these instances of fraudulent activity, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the tactics employed by scammers in the cryptocurrency and Web3 space.
• Application of the OCV framework to analyze these scams. We will explore how these scams relate to different crypto asset categories, such as Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and Exchange Tokens and Infrastructure, as defined within the OCV framework. This will reinforce the book’s core concepts in a practical manner.
• Opportunities to practice your English language skills within the context of real-world Web3 scenarios. The newsletter will provide engaging material for you to discuss and analyze, helping you become more confident in communicating about complex Web3 topics in English.
• Insights into the practical utility of money and its integration into everyday economic activity, especially in the context of Real-World Asset (RWA) Integration in the altcoin market.
